Guide Step 3: Supplements for Prostatitis
I have tested all kinds of different supplements. Some have benefited me some did nothing for me. I don’t believe any supplements can cure Prostatitis alone. I believe it is possible to cure this disease without supplements entirely. I do recommend a few to help you heal, feel better and cope with this disease. These supplements have been tested by me, so I know they will benefit you in certain ways.
The Best Supplements You Can Take
From all my testing here’s what worked best for me.
A Good Prostate Supplement - (Highly Recommended)
Be very careful buying Prostate supplements that say they are the miracle cure. There is no miracle cure for this disease short term. The supplement that helped normalize my urination and symptoms is Vitacost.Com - ProstaHeart. I bought 2 bottles worth, which lasted me about 2 months. I took one pill in the morning and one in the evening. You don’t have to buy this supplement; it’s kind of expensive ($27), it does help though. I recommend you find a good supplement with similar ingredients as ProstaHeart. Most importantly, your supplement should have a good dosage of Saw Palmetto and Pygeum. These are the 2 best herbs for normalizing and healing your prostate in time.
5-htp - (Highly Recommended)
If you are having depression, anxiety or sleeping problems, you should take this supplement. Your mind needs to be clear of these problems if you want to get better. 5-htp will help to put you in a positive mood. I took one 100mg 5-htp tablet per day and it helped me a lot. You might need to take more than 1 a day, but start off with only one as too much can cause adverse effects. You can find 5-htp at your local walmart or most stores that carry vitamins fairy cheap. Amazon.com usually has great deals on 5-htp. If you are using other prescribed medications, check with your doctor before using 5-htp.
A Good Pro-biotic
I recommend this if you are having problems with constipation. If you do buy a pro-biotic get one with billions of good bacteria per pill. I like using pb 8 Pro-biotic Supplement because it works and it’s very cheap for the quality that you get.
Quercetin with Bromelain
This does help a bit with pain. Helped better then Ibuprofen for me. What I hate about this stuff was the headaches and sluggish feeling it gave me. Not for everyone. I don’t really recommend this but you can try it if you are experiencing a lot of pain. You might not suffer with the same side effects that it gave me.
Ester C or Buffered Vitamin C
I don’t really see a use for them if you are following this sites recommended foods (You will already get enough Vitamin C from vegetables). Vitamin C supplement did nothing to help me, but has helped a lot of other people. If you want to take a vitamin C supplement, make sure you take Ester C or Buffered C because they are calcium based and won’t irritate your prostate. Normal Citric Acid Based Vitamin C will make your symptoms much worse.
Cranberry Pills
Cranberry juices are a big no, no, because of all the sugars in them. Cranberry Pills are ok once in a while, only when your abdominal or bladder feels bloated or painful you will find them helpful. Don't take these regularly, because of negative reactions. They should never be something you take daily.
